Workshops

Where are the workshops held?
Our workshops are originally based in Whangarei, New Zealand however we offer a range of options for groups & teams based in other areas. Our coach regularly travels for work so we may be able to offer an in-person workshop at certain times. Our workshops can also be conducted over Zoom or Google Meet. What sports/ages/levels are the workshops aimed at?
Our workshops can be tailored to athletes and coaches of all ages, skill levels, and sports. The more information you provide us, the better we can explain certain concepts and exercises at an age/skill/sport appropriate level. We aim to provide information in a way that those new to mental skills can understand. If you have certain techniques and exercises you want us to focus on, please let us know!

What is the cancellation policy for workshops?
The cancellation policy for all our workshops will be outlined in your workshop contract. When booking a workshop, you will be required to pay a deposit. This deposit is only refundable based on the refund policy in the workshop contract. If you would like to change or cancel your workshop, please contact us at athleteforlifenz@gmail.com.

Can you do a workshop tailored for a specifc topic/time/event?
Of course! Our coach can tailor a custom workshop for your specific topic/time/event. Contact us via our 'Contact' page or by emailing athleteforlifenz@gmail.com. Let us know the specifics and we will deal with the rest!
Coaching

What results can I expect from working with a mental performance coach?
Mental skills coaching is not one-size-fits-all. Athletes will have different areas of focus, goals, and sport requirements. The aim of mental skills coaching is to identify individual areas to improve and tailor the program to benefit the athletes. Some common outcomes include increased confidence, better concentration, improved emotional control and anxiety regulation.

What sports/ages/levels do you work with?
We work with athletes of all sports, ages, and, skill levels. Our mental performance coach can provide different coaching approaches for young, novice athletes compared with adult, elite athletes. We recommend incorporating mental skills training as early as possible in order to compliment physiological/psychological growth. Our coach also has experience with neurodivergent athletes and athletes with chronic diseases

How do I know I need mental performance coaching?
Any athlete wanting to improve and reach peak performance can find benefit in mental performance coaching. You do not need to have a 'problem' in order to improve your mental skills. Some signs athletes may need mental skills coaching include being unable to perform at max ability during competition, having mental blocks, or getting frustrated when things do not go perfectly.

Our mental performance coach is based in Whangarei, New Zealand and we can work in-person or online with athletes across New Zealand. We also work with athletes globally via Zoom or Teams. What is your cancellation policy for appointments?
If you require a change to your appointment, please notify our coach via email or text as soon as possible. For casual appointments we require notice of cancellation at least 24 hour prior to the appointment. If cancellations are made within 24hrs you will lose your deposit. Cancellation details for on-going programs are outlined in your coaching agreement. Please contact athleteforlifenz@gmail.com if you have any questions.
